Hello Fairies!

De retour de l’ateliers d’écriture de la semaine, le thème du jour était d’écrire un texte, sous la forme que l’on voulait, en partant de paroles d’une chanson de notre choix, écrire ce que ça nous inspirait. Taylor Swift m’a inspirée via deux phrases qui me tournent dans la tête en boucle depuis la sortie de son dernier album. J’ai écrit un poème/une chanson(?) à partir de ces deux phrases:
« I got wasted like all my potential »
« I was so ahead of the curve, that the curve became a circle »

I was too young to tell
That getting lost in a fairytale
Was not normal
When the dark around was abysmal

I was too young to know
That I should have said no
To all this grand escapes
Running from the Planet of the Apes

I was too kind
Lost in my mind
I hoped I’d find
Peace

I was too pretty to be
Anything but beauty
They told me to smile
But the world is vile

I was too pretty to aknowledge
That women live on the edge
We can’t have brain
Being smart is vain

I was too kind
Lost in my mind
I hope I’d find
Peace

I am too old to dream
To believe in a Sorcerer Supreme
I had it all in my hand
They dismantled it like a band

It all went to waste
I had to put the real me to rest
Now they’re throwing a feast
When I’ve become a beast
The monster under the bed
the witch not to wed

I am too smart to ignore
That I should have been more
reality crushed me in my sleep
I am tied in too deep

I was too kind
Lost in my mind
I hoped I’d find
Peace

But reality caught up on me

There’s no hope to find
Peace.
